A dairy monkey aka dairy enthusiast by choice, loving God, family friends and life!
Why do I get so excited about the animal agriculture industry and blog about it? I love the relationships that are built through people and animals, and I enjoy serving as a bridge between the dairy industry as the rest of the world. Creation never ceases to amaze me! The rain fall from the sky, grows the crops 10 foot high, and has shared MANY blessings feeding you and I! Agriculture plays such an important role in our lives from the clothes on our backs at this very moment, to the next meal we’ll eat!
My name is Ana Leigh (Schweer) Ruiz, a graduate from South Dakota State University with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture, Dairy Production. I grew up in the northeast corner of South Dakota working on my parents 90 cow Registered Holstein dairy farm. My family also raised corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa.
I am passionate about my faith and family, people and dairy. Other topics that I get overly excited and talkative about include animal welfare, proactive veterinary medical care of the dairy cow, dairy genetics and breeding, dairy management, dairy training, dairy farming, hoof health care, dairy nutrition, learning how to make dairy systems more efficient, farm succession, entrepreneurship, dairy products, bucking bulls, violin, guitar, biking, video production, cooking, hunting, networking, learning and much more! You could find me writing about all of them or something new any time! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, God Bless!
